Jalaluddin Rumi
translated by Coleman Barks and John Moyne

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn't make any sense.

A book arrived for me in the mail today! (Ok, I ordered it, but I'm still happy to receive it.) The book is A Book of Luminous Things, an International Anthology of Poetry, compiled by Czeslaw Milosz. It's a good selection of short poetry from around the world and from various eras. As you may have noticed, I tend to drift toward contemporary poetry, so it will be nice to have some poetry from other time periods.
