Ah, I love Edward Gorey and especially the Gashlycrumb Tinies! My sister got me a little book of it several Christmases ago because she knew how much I like it.

...My name is Amy, and I really want the picture with "A is for Amy who fell down the stairs" on a shirt. :D

I've never heard of Edward Gorey... but this reminds me of a morbid Shel Silverstein poem!

Thank you for putting this up!! I love Edward Gorey. I used to have a poster of this in my dorm in college. Also, I just get a kick out of my name being in it. I get struck with an Axe.

Gorey is my mom's favorite poet. I tried to memorize this as a kid.. I never succeeded, but it added ennui, awl, and lye to my vocabulary.

I was just pleased not to see my name among the listed, Gorey is a strange little man. I know very little about him, he just seems strange and dark. I know more his illustrations. Thanks for this one.

Have you ever heard the group Creature Feature? They do a song a lot like this, but with different words...I'll try to find a recording online; they're kind of obscure.

No wonder; it's called "A Gorey Demise." Haha.
LOVE this song:
